ABOUT MEDSGER

Amanda Medsger, the Principal of MEDSGER, brings over a decade of experience designing both residential and hospitality interiors. Her success is a testament to her diverse background in styling for both interiors and cookbooks.

Amanda's interior styling work has appeared in Architectural Digest, Elle Decor, Veranda, Dwell, Monocle Magazine, and more. Her cookbook styling of some of the South’s most beautiful and James Beard award-winning cookbooks transitioned seamlessly into restaurant design and has led her to restaurant projects ranging from Vestal restaurant in Lafayette to a variety of Underbelly Hospitality restaurant projects in Houston.

MEDSGER's work is defined by an elegant blend of modernism, natural materials, and an appreciation for the beauty in imperfection and age. Each space is treated as a story unique to its inhabitants, where every object acts as a character in the narrative.

Her work feels layered over time, poetically weaving together the modern, familiar, and authentic, transcending any specific design movement or trend. Instead, her intention is to create a distinct sense of place that breathes a life and story of its own. The result is reminiscent of the ancient Greek word "Nostos," which describes the feeling of coming home after a long, epic journey. This unique sense of place and home is palpable in all of MEDSGER's projects.

VISION

My goal for every project is to achieve “nostos,” an Ancient Greek word that symbolizes the feeling of returning home after an epic journey.
